Personal project of a fire hydrant pole.
I was walking by this asset almost every day in my hometown and every time I was getting intrigued to make a realistic replica of it because of its interesting and varied surfaces. Also recently I got a new pc and wanted to test out its limits with texturing in painter while also challenging my texturing skills with achiving a realistic look.
My aim with this piece was to add as much texture detail as I can and follow closely the reference but also make it with a game ready aspect in mind. With the end goal to render it in Marmoset and have high res close up shots to show of the full capabilities of my texture work.
Tris count is 27.000.I added extra loops than what I normaly would have in order to avoid a jaggy look in my close up shots.
Texturing was entirely done in Painter and all surfaces where proceduraly created from zero by me.Texruting in painter was done with a 4k resolution and exported in 8k to enable me to have clean close up shots.
